Sample Class Letter about Teacher Birthday
• Find out the best way to communicate with your teacher and parents.
(i.e. email, phone, in person, Friday Folders)
• Teacher mailboxes are located in the Uniform Exchange room. There will be a
bulletin board above these mailboxes for announcements, etc. This is also the
location of the PTL and PTL Treasurer mailboxes.
• PTL Sponsored Event with Assigned Classroom
This event is the responsibility of the Room Parents of the assigned class with
support from the PTL.
• Assist the classroom teacher with a phone tree for last minute
events. This does not happen very often, but may be needed
for rapid communication when email will not work sufficiently.
• Class photographer – It might be helpful to have some one who is in charge of
taking pictures and finding an easy way to distribute them.
• Recess or lunch relief - This is one way to give your teacher a break during the day.
One or more parents can watch the students during the lunch period or a recess
period. This could be done randomly or on a set schedule.
• Field Trips – Recruit volunteers and organize if requested by the teacher (some
teachers prefer to plan and staff the field trips themselves)
• Special Events and Classroom Projects – Throughout the year, teachers may decide
to do a special project or event and may call on room parents to assist them in
finding volunteers, making phone calls, providing materials, food, etc.
