What is Accelerated Reader?
Accelerated Reader (AR) helps build a lifelong love of reading and learning. AR is the
world’s most popular reading management software. Used in nearly 60,000 schools,
Accelerated Reader provides teachers with an easy and effective way to monitor all
forms of guided reading practice.

Accelerated Reader’s three easy steps helps continuously guide students to appropriate
books within their zone of proximal development (ZPD). At the same time, it helps
personalize reading instruction.
Step 1
Student Reads a Book.
 The student reads a library or textbook selection.
Step 2
Student Takes a Quiz.
 The quizzes provide assessment information to help
motivate reading, monitor progress, and target
instruction to accelerate reading growth.
Step 3
Get Information.
 Get easy-to-read reports on the reading level and
comprehension skills of each student to guide
instruction and help the student select more reading
materials.
New way to see the AR lists by author, book level and book title!

We can now go directly online with Accelerated Reader Renaissance Place.  Simply click on the link below and
use the search engine located at the top of that window to search by Title or Author.  Click on the Advanced
Search link if you want to search by book level and/or AR point level.  Note:  Even though it says "Quiz Store", you
will not be purchasing anything. This is just an easy way to search what quizzes are available.

Want to check on your child's AR progress?

Parents can now access their student's goals and points, as well as print certain reports.  Use the link below.  You will need
